Den Haag Topsport

Den Haag Topsport is the point of contact for every top athlete, sports club, sports association and sports events organizer in The Hague and for local industries interested in sponsoring sport and sporting events.
 
Under authority of the municipality of The Hague, Den Haag Topsport (a division of Den Haag Marketing) is in charge of the implementation of the policy of the municipality of The Hague in respect of top-level sports events. This policy strives to create a climate in which top-class teams, athletes and main sports events can thrive in The Hague. To this end, special attention is given to the seven ‘sports focus areas’.

Den Haag Topsport focuses on six main tasks:
• Drawing (inter) national top-class sporting events to The Hague
• Supporting event organizers with respect to permits, marketing & communication and facilities
• In cooperation with the Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport: supporting and coaching high-performing athletes and sports organizations  
• Acquiring and exchanging knowledge and expertise regarding top-level sports on behalf of premier league athletes, clubs, associations and events
• Strengthening the bonds between the business community on the one hand and organizers of top-level sporting events as well as top-class athletes and clubs in The Hague on the other (e.g. recruiting and membership retention of Sport Business Club Den Haag)
• Marketing and promotion of top-level sports activities and events in The Hague (e.g. production and distribution of quarterly magazine ‘Den Haag Sport’)
 
In promoting and developing top-class sport in The Hague, Den Haag Topsport works closely together with the Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport, with support from the Dutch sports federation NOC*NSF.
