Athletes and sports unions

Den Haag Topsport helps top talents on the often tough and demanding way to the top, working closely together with the Regio Steunpunt Talent en Topsport. Athletes can enlist for support via the website of the Support Centre. An intake interview is then arranged to discuss matters and determine what issues – if any – stand in the way of the athlete’s development or how the person’s development trajectory could be optimized. If an athlete qualifies for top sport status he/she will have access to the Regional Olympic Network The Hague and the support available through this network.
In addition, Den Haag Topsport manages a top-class sport support fund from which contributions can be made towards covering the cost of transport and accommodation with events such as training positions and qualifying tournaments.

Den Haag Topsport supports the national sports unions in the following areas:
• events organized by the union (subsidy applications, promotion & communication, transport, overnight accommodation, permit procedures and relations marketing);
• initiating and facilitating the regional and national training centres of the union concerned in and around The Hague;
• individual support in sport-related medical affairs on behalf of talent and top-level performers from The Hague, registered through NOC*NSF (Netherlands Olympic Committee – Netherlands Sports Federation)
